Waiting for my Rollei

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

I bought a Rolleiflex from India a week or two ago and it takes forever to ship from India, apparently. I really want it *wah*

I think I’ll owe money on my credit card for it before it arrives.  And I have so many rolls of 120 just sitting in my fridge… just itching to be shot.

The Avalanche

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

I downloaded Sufjan Stevens’s new album, The Avalanche because I just couldn’t wait to get it shipped to me (I am buying it though). I’m no music critic, but I have to say that I really love this album. It’s not quite as catchy as Illinois, but it’s still fantastic.

My favorite track is Dear Mr. Supercomputer. It’s pretty unique and has to do with computers ;). The melody is very rhythmic and mechanically repetitive. The backup vocals are great. Okay, I suck at describing music. But this track is great, trust me.

Adlai Stevenson and No Man’s Land are among my favorites is as well. The three new versions of Chicago are interesting to say the least. I like them… but I don’t think I would go out of my way to play them on my iPod.

Sometimes I want to cry

So I was developing 4 rolls of 120 from my trip. It’s not fair that fixer and developer come in nearly identical bottles. Damn you, Ilford! Okay, I’m in too much shock to blame myself 100%. Anyways… I am off to mope about and be sick of developing film for a while.

I need to stop failing at life. And my hands wreak of darkroom. *shakes fist*

No, I am not wearing pajamas.
